Find missing days in policy evidence

Runs in your browser. No upload. Enter one row per policy period for one vendor. Dates use an exclusive end: a policy expiring July 1 and a renewal effective July 1 are adjacent.

Required coverage types

Check each coverage type independently

A current GL policy does not close a workers comp date gap. Select the coverage types required by the agreement, then add every relevant policy period for one vendor. A required type with no submitted policy appears as a gap for the full requested period. Overlapping periods of the same type are combined for date-continuity checking.

How date boundaries work

Dates are interpreted as calendar dates, with the expiration and required end treated as exclusive. A policy ending July 1 and a renewal beginning July 1 are adjacent. A renewal beginning July 3 leaves July 1 and July 2 uncovered by the entered date evidence. Actual policy expiration times and time zones must be checked separately.

Use a gap as a document question

A gap in your file may mean a missing renewal rather than a confirmed lapse. Request evidence for the specific missing period. Do not ask a vendor to alter the date on an existing certificate. If a carrier confirms an actual lapse, route the decision to the authorized contract or risk reviewer.

Limits of a date timeline

The timeline does not know whether a policy was cancelled, whether the correct insured or operations are covered, whether limits are sufficient, or whether an endorsement continued. Even an unbroken date range requires review of the relevant policy evidence. Keep the timeline result with the source documents and review decision.

FAQ

Common questions.

  1. 01

Can overlapping policy periods hide a gap?

For each selected coverage type, the checker merges overlapping and adjacent periods. It then reports the remaining days within your required date range.

  2. 02

Does a clean timeline prove continuous insurance?

No. It proves only that the entered date periods have no missing days under the tool’s boundary convention. Cancellation and policy terms remain separate questions.
